STUDIO RENTALS

The beating heart of Pelorus is the 20-foot by 20-foot sound-proof stage located in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood. The facility boasts a comfortable green room and a large conference room both of which are connected via video and audio feed to the stage.

DAY RATES

Our day rate is $2,000 / 10-hour day (8am – 6pm). Opening the studio prior to 8am or shooting past 6pm is an additional $200/hour. There is a $500 key fee for opening on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday.

The stage is currently painted green and there is a black curtain on a track that can wrap around the shooting space.

LOCATION

Pelorus Studio is located at 333 Hudson Street @ Charlton Street in the Hudson Square section of SoHo. We are near the 1 train at Houston Street and the AC at Spring Street.

  • 20' x 20' soundproof, pre-lit cyclorama (height is 10-feet to the grid, 8 feet to the lowest light on the grid)

  • Lighting grid (10 feet to the grid, 8 feet to the lowest light)

  • Variety of flags, nets, scrims, silks, grip gear, sandbags, B-boards & apple boxes

  • Control room space (office space with seating for 2-3)

  • Hair & makeup room (includes mirror, wardrobe rack, steamer)

  • Comfortable green room/kitchenette with monitor feed from the stage

  • Production bull pen with two desks

  • 200-amp power and trash removal

  • Wireless internet (we offer an ethernet connection in the control room and on the stage)

  • Conference room with seating for 10

  • Large bull-pen table with seating for 8

Film Production
EARLY LOAD-IN

If the studio is not booked the day before your scheduled shoot, we are open to gear drop-off during our normal business hours (10am – 6pm) the day prior to your shoot; but we can not guarantee this. If you want to guarantee access to the stage on the day prior to your shoot we can offer you a rental rate of $1,000. When leaving gear at Pelorus overnight, please note that the gear is stored on the stage overnight. The entry to the facility would be locked, but the doors to the stage itself do not lock so our employees would have access to that space.

PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION

• Deposit: Deposit of 50% of invoice due with this signed agreement
• Payment: Remaining 50% of invoice due the morning of the shoot
• Certificate of Insurance naming “Pelorus Studio” as additional insured for liability
• Payments are to be by cash, business check or Chase QuickPay
• Cancellation of a signed rental agreement will result in the forfeiture of the deposit
